Visitor Name Tags

Could my company/organization benefit from having visitor name tags? With the heightened awareness of security and identification in today’s world, visitor name tags are very useful.

Identifying the visitors that come to your office is a great idea. Visitors may look like strangers walking around your work place if not properly identified. With the aid of visitor name tags, your employees will be able to recognize visitors and assist them more efficiently.

Keep your visitor name badges at your office’s check in desk. This will increase the safety and security of your work place. Also, it will demonstrate the professional nature of your organization by showing that you are serious about office safety.

Providing visitors with name tags is an opportunity to make a good impression. Make the visitor feel important and welcome. Be creative in your name tag design – say “VIP” or “Special Guest” in place of “Visitor”. Consider ordering different types of visitor name tags for the different departments that each guest will be a part of. Indicate on the name tag that this is a visitor for the finance department and not the management team.

Visitor name tags can take on more uses than expected. Think about how you can creatively use these name tags. Our website offers a variety of name tags to explore your creativity. Any way you make your visitor name tags, you will be helping identify guests while promoting a positive opinion of your company by all who visit.

Online Shopping and Sales Tax

So here you are, exploring your name tag options, and you are ready to check out. Are you expecting to pay a sales tax on your name tag order? Don’t bother… unless you live in Mississippi.

Name-Tags.net has its home state location in Mississippi. We have to collect sales tax on name tag orders that are made from within the state. Unless the State Tax Commission has released you from paying sales tax or you have a direct pay permit, and you live in Mississippi, then your order will be taxed.

If your name tag order is shipped out of our home state, then don’t worry, it is not subject to sales tax. But you’re thinking back, and you know you’ve paid sales tax on orders made with other companies out of your home state! For these companies, the order was taxed because they have a retail location or a distributor in your state. It doesn’t matter where the main company is located, as long as they have a distributor in your state you have to pay sales tax.

For the time being, there is no tax on internet sales. Your online orders with Name-Tags.net will not be taxed if shipped out of state. Eventually, there will probably be some sort of flat internet sales tax. So enjoy ordering your name tags all you want before there is a sales tax put on online orders!

Appreciate the ease of online shopping with Name-Tags.net while you discover all the different types of name tags we offer. Full color, metal, engraved, custom shaped, and other types of name tags are available to order at your fingertips.

Reuse Reduce Recycle

It’s time to do your part. Here’s one small step you can take to reduce waste. Use and recycle reusable name tags.

Reusable name tags are very affordable and easy to personalize on-site. They are great name tags to have on hand in an organization with a fast growing member population or a company with an ever changing staff.

Each name tag can be customized with your organization name/logo design imprinted on it. An open space on the name badge is left for you to apply a name label at your convenience. Make affordable name labels with your own printer or label maker in the office. Your personalized name tags can be made in no time!

Buy reusable name tags in bulk – it cuts down on the cost and they will all be put to good use at some point. If you have a small and relatively permanent staff, consider our other types of name tags. We offer full color, metal, engraved, and custom shaped name tags.

Say Cheese!

It’s time to take pictures of your employees for their photo id badges. All you need to get started is a digital camera. Here are some tips we have to share on how to get great pictures for your id badges.

  • Use the same color background behind each employee
  • Solid color backgrounds work best
  • Make sure the lighting in the room stays consistent
  • Don’t shoot with the sun behind the subject
  • Take the pictures from the same distance for each subject
  • Frame each subject the same – either all horizontally or all vertically
  • Tell the subject to smile! Don’t let them think this is a mug shot.
  • Suggest ahead of time that all employees wear a company shirt or company colors
  • Designating one room for this photo shoot will produce consistent pictures

Once you have taken all of your pictures for your id badges, send them to Name-Tags.net by email, and we’ll take care of the rest of the work. Have your pictures either renamed with your employees’ names, or make a list of employees with their picture number (i.e. Janice Wright – 001.jpg). We will design the id badge layout and proofs will be emailed to you to verify that all names, titles, and photos match up. Then, within 48 hours, your images will be digitally imprinted on white plastic badges and shipped.

Your full color photo id badges come with a pin back, or are available with magnetic backings, clip backings, or lanyards. Photo id badges - simple and affordable with Name-Tags.net! Pull out your camera today!

Activate the Laser!

What laser? The engraving laser!

Laser engraving is how we stick to the simple classic name tag look, yet offer room for color and creativity. Engraved name tags can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. Different fonts and even your logo can be engraved.

How does laser engraving work? Fist off, the name badges used contain a surface color and a core color. A high powered laser beam of light focuses on the surface of your plastic or metal name badge and etches out your design. The laser actually vaporizes (VAPORIZES!) the surface layer. The lettering and logo are revealed as the contrasting color of the core material of the name badge.

Although engraved name tags only display two colors, they are very popular for their durability and sharp professional image. Name-Tags.net offers a variety of two color name tags. Metal badges are available in a few select colors, while plastic badges offer a larger color selection.

If you feel your logo would be better displayed as a full color image, try our digitally imprinted full color name tags. Both types of name tags are offered in different sizes, shapes, colors, and custom designs. Your order can be large or small, but always quick, easy, and affordable.

Digital What?

Digital printing! It’s the new and improved way to make professional nametags. Although engraved nametags have a classic look, they are incomparable to the potential of digitally printed nametags.

Engraved nametags can only contain two colors: the surface color of the tag and the letter color for the design. This may be all you need, but is it all you are looking for? With digital printing, your nametags can contain a variety of colors to suit your needs.

The process of digital printing integrates inkjet printing, heat, and pressure to create unique multicolor nametags. Your nametags can be printed in volume or one at a time. This will come in handy when you only need to order a few name badges after your initial order.

Digital imprinting offers a greater use of creativity when designing nametags. Not only are there more colors, but also more typestyles and artwork. We cannot print every color imaginable, but we can approximate colors that are sure to satisfy. Your quality art will be crafted into a unique name badges that will enhance your professional image.

Synergy

How can nametags improve and maintain a comfortable business environment? Here's three important ways:

1. Accessibility

Don’t you hate it when your waiter walks right past your table when you are trying to get their attention? If they were wearing a nametag, it would have helped your remember their name to call them to your table. Nametags make it easier for customers to call for attention when they need service. Without them, customers will have to search out someone else for help, or they won’t get what they need.

2. Comfort

Have you ever asked someone in a store for assistance, wrongfully thinking they were an employee? How uncomfortable! Nametags make it clear who works there and who doesn’t. You don’t need your customers wandering around the sales floor trying to figure out if anyone even works there!

3. Synergy

When you start a new job, how long does it take you to remember everyone’s name? A week? A month? A few months? Nametags in the workplace can help, especially for organizations that have hundreds of employees. Work will run more smoothly when everyone is on the same page.

By simply incorporating name badges into your workplace you can maximize employee approachability, comfort, and synergy. Buying nametags will be a minor investment with a major payoff. Try our classic engraved nametags or full color logo nametags for a professional look.

Better Business

Can name tags increase your business? You’d be surprised how wearing name tags can bring in new clients.

First off, name tags are a useful way to be memorable. Consider all the meetings, social gatherings, or sales calls where you are meeting new people. Your name, and the company’s, is easier to recall when having been clearly read off of a name tag. Any situation where you come in contact with new people, you should wear a name tag.

Secondly, if you were a potential client, wouldn’t name tags make your life easier? Having that reminder of who you are interacting with can put you at ease and make you comfortable. Forgetting someone’s name is too easy and can add awkwardness to a situation. Stick with name tags to make your sales process easier.

Think of how many people you meet a week doing regular business. These people need to know your name. These people need to remember you and your company. Let your name badge give you an edge.

Is Bigger Better?

When it comes to name tags, bigger can be better, but you don’t need your employees wearing a billboard to get the point across. So as you are looking for new name tags, remember how size can be an important design factor. Consider these points when determining what size fits your company best:

  • Do you have a logo?
  • Where will your logo be positioned? To the side? Top or bottom? Background?
  • Are you including both first and last name?
  • How long is the average name?
  • Will you include a title or nickname?

Also keep in mind who will be wearing the name tags and who will be viewing the tags. Are the name badges for your staff on the customer floor, trade show booth, in the office, or for sales people in the field? Depending on the environment, you want to make sure your name tags are visible but not weighing your employees down. Let your company logo stand out, but make sure the font size of the name is large enough to be the first part of the name tag to catch the eye.

Name-Tags.net offers a variety of name tag sizes with different heights and widths to fit your needs. Custom sizes and shapes are also available with full color name tags and engraved plastic name tags.

More than Just a Name

What’s in a name tag? Well you want a name and title, maybe a logo – can’t there be more? Of course! Any additional detail can make an impression on customers and fellow employees. Use name tags and badges as an opportunity to build rapport, recognize employees, create a friendly environment, and more.

There is plenty of space on name badges that is open to be designed through your creativity. In addition to a title, why not add a nickname - something fun to liven up the workplace and give employees the feel of individuality. Nicknames or any fun humor on name tags can be a great conversation starter with clients. Or add years of service, to recognize the employee for their hard work and commitment. Customers will know they are in good hands with an employee who has been on the job for a while.

Different colored or shaped name tags can indicate different levels of achievement or accreditations. You can make a distinction between staff and management badges, which help customers recognize employees. Honors added to name badges, such as employee of the year, are a great way to recognize and reward staff members. Any way you can put a smile on an employee’s or client’s face is the way to go.

Keep in mind your employees and customers and we know you can creatively come up with amazing personalized nametags!

Seen and Noted

In difficult economic times, it’s left to the creative manager to find ways to inspire morale without breaking the bank. Fortunately, we’re here to help!

What better way to recognize employees than with customized name tags? Sure, you can go the traditional route of listing an employee’s name and job title. Or you can jazz up your nametags with personalized messages of appreciation. Consider the following:
  • Service Recognition Name Tag: Add a line like “Valued Staff Member Since 1992” or “Celebrating 10 Years of Outstanding Service” under the employee’s name. It shows that you care about the hard work they’ve put in over the years.

  • Employee of the Month Name Tag: Design a special name tag for your employee of the month to wear. Be creative by selecting one of our custom shapes, such as a star, or even upgrading to one of our spin- or die-cast custom medals complete with personalized lanyard.

  • Color-Coordinated Achievement Name Tag: Use specially colored nametags to represent specific goals earned, such as reaching a sales milestone or an accreditation level.

  • Nickname Name Tag: Spotlight your employee’s unique contributions by adding a descriptive nickname to their nametag, such as “King of Sales” or “Queen of Customer Service.”

  • Attendance Name Tag: Encourage good attendance by handing out name tags with 3-, 6-, or 12-month perfect attendance commendations.
By using personalized name tags, the only limit to boosting employee morale is your imagination – not your budget. And who knows? By coming up with such a cost-effective solution, you may even earn a special nametag of your own one day!

The Price is Right!

It’s happened to all of us. You go to make an online purchase and the actual price is much higher than the price you thought you were getting when you selected your items. Why does this happen?

There are plenty of techniques that online merchants use to get more money out of their customers. But you won’t find us using those techniques at Name-Tags.net.

Here’s what to look for when it comes to added or hidden fees at other online merchants:
  • Additional charges for various sizes
  • Additional charges for titles or multiple lines
  • Additional charges for rush delivery of nametags
  • Hidden set-up fees
  • Additional charges for second proofs
  • Additional charges for individual packing of name tags
  • Deceptive pre-set prices for shipping
Another thing to avoid when considering other online merchants? The promise of free shipping. Just because the shipping cost isn’t line itemized, don’t believe you aren’t being charged for it somewhere along the line!

But at Name-Tags.net, you can rest assured that the price you’re quoted will be the price you pay, thanks to the following:
  • One price for all sizes, even custom-sized nametags
  • One price no matter how many lines
  • No charge for on-time delivery of name tags
  • A modest $25 set-up fee for all new orders and no charge for reorder set up
  • No charge, no matter how many proofs
  • No charge for individually bagging each nametag
  • Shipping prices determined by the actual cost of shipping
At Name-Tags.net, we take pride in providing excellent customer service. And we don’t think sneaking in hidden fees and overcharging you for our name tags is a good way to provide that. We want to build a relationship with you, our customer. It’s what we’ve been doing for almost 25 years. And it’s what we plan to continue doing.

Precious Metals

When it comes to making a good impression in the corporate world, it’s hard to beat the timeless elegance of an engraved or digitally imprinted metal name tag.

To make our metal nametags, we start a with fine, high-quality aluminum foundation enhanced by a brushed finish. This finish is typically gold or silver but can also be white or bronze; many find that the silver or white background tends to show color better.

Once a color selection has been made, we either engrave or digitally imprint the nametag with your text and logo. With engraving, the surface of the name tag is etched with a diamond tip cutter to reveal the nametag’s core color, making it an ideal choice for more basic, two-color images and text. With digital imprinting, a full spectrum of colors can be added to the name tag’s surface, allowing for more complex logos and other multi-color images. (Keep in mind, however, that while exact PMS colors cannot be matched, most can be accurately approximated.)

After your nametag has been created, the corners are rounded to give it a professional appearance. As a finishing touch, we often recommend adding metal badge frame (shown right). These metal frames, which come in silver or gold, are especially popular for our line of executive name tags. In no time at all, you’ll be on your way to making an excellent first – and lasting – impression.

Join us next post when we’ll share some quick tips about how to avoid hidden fees and save money when ordering name tags. Until then, remember that…

Picture This!

If a picture says a thousand words, then there’s no way to fit more words on a nametag than with a photo id badge!

Photo id badges have grown in popularity over the last few years, due to heightened concerns about security and identity theft. But while it used to be a tedious process to design, create, and produce a photo id badge, today it’s nothing short of simple thanks to the advent of digital printing. The only thing you need to get started is a digital camera and a digital file of your company logo!

Here are just few tips to keep in mind when taking photos for your customized name tags:

• Take all the photos the same distance from the subject.
• Take the photo against a light-color or bland background (a sheet can be hung and used for this purpose).
• Take all the photos in the same lighting (this is more of an issue if you are taking the photos outdoors or in natural light).

By following these steps, you can ensure the consistency of your photo id badges. After that, our trained professionals are on-hand to walk you through the rest of the process. Before you know it, you’ll have your high-quality personalized nametags in hand.

Another bonus? Because we can print batches of as few as five badges, you can even order photo ids for modest gatherings, such as a business dinner or training seminar, or a small group of staff, such as front desk or security personnel. (For an added touch, consider a customized lanyard imprinted with your company logo.)

So the next time you consider ordering nametags, think about upgrading to a photo id badge. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it says volumes about your organization’s commitment to professionalism.
