Reuse Reduce Recycle

It’s time to do your part. Here’s one small step you can take to reduce waste. Use and recycle reusable name tags.

Reusable name tags are very affordable and easy to personalize on-site. They are great name tags to have on hand in an organization with a fast growing member population or a company with an ever changing staff.

Each name tag can be customized with your organization name/logo design imprinted on it. An open space on the name badge is left for you to apply a name label at your convenience. Make affordable name labels with your own printer or label maker in the office. Your personalized name tags can be made in no time!

Buy reusable name tags in bulk – it cuts down on the cost and they will all be put to good use at some point. If you have a small and relatively permanent staff, consider our other types of name tags. We offer full color, metal, engraved, and custom shaped name tags.

Say Cheese!

It’s time to take pictures of your employees for their photo id badges. All you need to get started is a digital camera. Here are some tips we have to share on how to get great pictures for your id badges.

  • Use the same color background behind each employee
  • Solid color backgrounds work best
  • Make sure the lighting in the room stays consistent
  • Don’t shoot with the sun behind the subject
  • Take the pictures from the same distance for each subject
  • Frame each subject the same – either all horizontally or all vertically
  • Tell the subject to smile! Don’t let them think this is a mug shot.
  • Suggest ahead of time that all employees wear a company shirt or company colors
  • Designating one room for this photo shoot will produce consistent pictures

Once you have taken all of your pictures for your id badges, send them to Name-Tags.net by email, and we’ll take care of the rest of the work. Have your pictures either renamed with your employees’ names, or make a list of employees with their picture number (i.e. Janice Wright – 001.jpg). We will design the id badge layout and proofs will be emailed to you to verify that all names, titles, and photos match up. Then, within 48 hours, your images will be digitally imprinted on white plastic badges and shipped.

Your full color photo id badges come with a pin back, or are available with magnetic backings, clip backings, or lanyards. Photo id badges - simple and affordable with Name-Tags.net! Pull out your camera today!

Activate the Laser!

What laser? The engraving laser!

Laser engraving is how we stick to the simple classic name tag look, yet offer room for color and creativity. Engraved name tags can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. Different fonts and even your logo can be engraved.

How does laser engraving work? Fist off, the name badges used contain a surface color and a core color. A high powered laser beam of light focuses on the surface of your plastic or metal name badge and etches out your design. The laser actually vaporizes (VAPORIZES!) the surface layer. The lettering and logo are revealed as the contrasting color of the core material of the name badge.

Although engraved name tags only display two colors, they are very popular for their durability and sharp professional image. Name-Tags.net offers a variety of two color name tags. Metal badges are available in a few select colors, while plastic badges offer a larger color selection.

If you feel your logo would be better displayed as a full color image, try our digitally imprinted full color name tags. Both types of name tags are offered in different sizes, shapes, colors, and custom designs. Your order can be large or small, but always quick, easy, and affordable.

Is Bigger Better?

When it comes to name tags, bigger can be better, but you don’t need your employees wearing a billboard to get the point across. So as you are looking for new name tags, remember how size can be an important design factor. Consider these points when determining what size fits your company best:

  • Do you have a logo?
  • Where will your logo be positioned? To the side? Top or bottom? Background?
  • Are you including both first and last name?
  • How long is the average name?
  • Will you include a title or nickname?

Also keep in mind who will be wearing the name tags and who will be viewing the tags. Are the name badges for your staff on the customer floor, trade show booth, in the office, or for sales people in the field? Depending on the environment, you want to make sure your name tags are visible but not weighing your employees down. Let your company logo stand out, but make sure the font size of the name is large enough to be the first part of the name tag to catch the eye.

Name-Tags.net offers a variety of name tag sizes with different heights and widths to fit your needs. Custom sizes and shapes are also available with full color name tags and engraved plastic name tags.

Precious Metals

When it comes to making a good impression in the corporate world, it’s hard to beat the timeless elegance of an engraved or digitally imprinted metal name tag.

To make our metal nametags, we start a with fine, high-quality aluminum foundation enhanced by a brushed finish. This finish is typically gold or silver but can also be white or bronze; many find that the silver or white background tends to show color better.

Once a color selection has been made, we either engrave or digitally imprint the nametag with your text and logo. With engraving, the surface of the name tag is etched with a diamond tip cutter to reveal the nametag’s core color, making it an ideal choice for more basic, two-color images and text. With digital imprinting, a full spectrum of colors can be added to the name tag’s surface, allowing for more complex logos and other multi-color images. (Keep in mind, however, that while exact PMS colors cannot be matched, most can be accurately approximated.)

After your nametag has been created, the corners are rounded to give it a professional appearance. As a finishing touch, we often recommend adding metal badge frame (shown right). These metal frames, which come in silver or gold, are especially popular for our line of executive name tags. In no time at all, you’ll be on your way to making an excellent first – and lasting – impression.

Size Matters

There are several things to consider when deciding what size your nametag should be. After all, the goal is to make the most impact in the shortest amount of time.

The first – and most important – is the wearer’s name. Are you going to be using both the wearer’s first and last names? Remember, the name tag will need to be big enough regardless of how long the wearer’s name is. Are you also planning to include the wearer’s job title or any other information?

The second is your company’s logo. You want it to be large enough so that it can easily be seen and identified but you do not want it to overshadow the wearer’s name. Once you’ve determined the correct size for your logo, you need to consider its placement on the name tag. Should it be at the top or bottom? On the right or left side?

The third is the nametag’s visibility. Is the wearer attending a meeting or a trade show? Is she making a sales call? Is he a waiter? A real estate agent? A nurse? There is an appropriately sized name tag for each of these situations.

The fourth is the nametag’s shape. While this may seem a minor consideration, a unique shape can lend just the right amount of whimsy or seriousness to a name tag. Both our plastic engraved name tags and full color plastic name tags can be custom sized to give your nametag a personal touch.

And last, but not least, is the fun stuff – font and color! Our metal name tags and plastic engraved name tags come in a broad selection of color pairs, while our full color plastic name tags can be digitally imprinted with your full color logo. We also offer a number of different writing styles designed to complement your shape and color choices.

Who knew how much care and thought could go into choosing a name tag? Well, we did! And now that you know, too, you can use these guidelines to make the right choice when choosing your next name tag.
